23 April 2010, Hong Kong – Showcasing the industrial strength of the Pearl River Delta to the world, China South International Materials City (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China South City Holdings Limited (“China South City” or “the Group”, stock code: 1668.HK), one of the leading developers and operators of large-scale, integrated logistics and trade centers in China, co-organizes the 2nd China (Shenzhen) International Industrial Fair 2010 (CIIF) with more than 20 government organizations and associations. The 2nd CIIF will be held at China South City Shenzhen [CSC (Shenzhen)] starting 24 April until 27 April 2010. The number of exhibitors this year has topped 3,500 from 3,000 last year while the exhibition area has increased by 20% to 72,000 square meters. Growing from strength to strength, this year’s Fair draws together hundreds of thousands types of products and raw materials from exhibitors, receiving buyers registrations from 54 countries and regions, with more than 100,000 visitors expected.

 

Created to be the premier trade fair of China light industry, the CIIF aims to facilitate the centralized purchasing of raw materials, new products, new technologies by pulling together and optimizing the strength and resources of the industrial enterprises in the Pearl River Delta, China and beyond. Combining CSC Shenzhen’s business strength and taking care to ensure synergies and interaction with the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) that will be held concurrently, this year’s CIIF will offer dedicated zones for eight major exhibitions. They are: 1) China International Industrial Design Show, 2) Import and Export Products Show, 3) Craft and Gifts Show, 4) Security Products Trade Fair, 5) Electronics and Communication Show, 6) Metals Products and Electromechanical Products Show, 7) Supermarket Goods Show, and 8) Rosewood Furniture Show.


Mr. Ricky Cheng, Co-Chairman and Executive Director of CSC, also the Deputy Director of Organizing Committee of CIIF, said, “We are extremely pleased that CSC Shenzhen is once again the venue for the 2nd CIIF.  CIIF is the first modern international fair to put together specialized markets and exhibitions.  With the full support from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, as well as 11 other national trade associations, CIIF is the most authoritative, influential and extensive fair of its kind in China. It is our honor to hold the Fair at CSC Shenzhen again. Geographically, it is uniquely positioned to provide industries in the Pearl River Delta with access to domestic and overseas markets.  So far, 850 buyers and 12 overseas purchasing delegations from 54 countries and regions, totaling about 2,050 overseas buyers, have pre-registered for this year’s event.  On top of that, the Fair is expected to attract 100,000 visitors over the four-day period.  CSC’s international reputation is also expected to get a boost by hosting the event, along with future customer flow and its leadership position in the industry. ”

 

The fair is jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Chamber of International Commerce (CCIC) and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. It is co-organized b y the Shenzhen Science and Technology, Industry, Trade and Information Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, the Longgang District Government in Shenzhen, CCPIT Shenzhe n Branch , and China South International Industrial Materials City Shenzhen, with the support of 11 national industry associations including the China Packaging Federation and the China National Textile and Apparel Council. Starting from last year, the four-day fair is held twice a year and concurrent with the Canton Fair in spring and autumn each year.  

 

CSC Shenzhen is a large scale integrated and multi-functional industrial materials trade center, providing comprehensive range of integrated logistics and trade services and facilities in China. Covering a site area of over 1 million square meters with a GFA of approximately 2.6 million square meters, CSC Shenzhen provides domestic and international suppliers, manufacturers and distributors of raw materials and finished goods an unrivalled one-stop shop trading platform to display and sell their products. With the support of various major organizations and associations, the inaugural CIIF achieved impressive results last year, with on-site transactions and contracts amounting to over 6 billion RMB.   Last year, 1,091 companies and organizations from both locally and overseas attended the Fair, including 897 enterprises from the mainland, 36 from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and 158 from overseas. More than 82,000 people visited and made purchases in the Fair.

A full range of supporting facilities and services are available to buyers and exhibitors. Free transportation will be provided between the CSC Shenzhen and different locations including Kowloon Tong and Wanchai Ferry Terminal in Hong Kong, the venue of the Canton Fair, Shenzhen Huanggang Port and Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, in order to provide buyers with “multi-spots” one-stop shop transportation service. To help smooth the visa application process for overseas participants, an invitation letter for that purpose is being coordinated by the Shenzhen municipal government. Chinese visa authorities such as Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office and Shenzhen Trade Promotion Commission will approve all the visa application submitted by the organizing committee of CIIF, in order to ensure the smooth participation of foreign exhibitors and guests.
